We're excited to introduce Sonest — a platform that gives developers free .snst.lol subdomains with full DNS control, instant activation, and zero cost.

Why We Built Sonest

Every side project, hackathon demo, or API prototype deserves a clean URL. But registering a domain just for a hobby project often feels like overkill — and costs money you'd rather spend elsewhere.

Sonest solves this by providing free subdomains under the .snst.lol TLD. You get a memorable, professional-looking URL for your project without any commitment.

How It Works

The platform is built on three principles:

  • Instant activation: Claim your subdomain and it's live within seconds.
  • Full DNS control: Manage A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX, SRV, NS, and CAA records from a clean dashboard.
  • Edge-powered DNS: All DNS queries are resolved at the edge via Cloudflare, ensuring fast resolution worldwide.

    • Under the Hood

    Sonest is built with Next.js and uses Cloudflare's DNS API for record management. Each user's records are isolated per-tenant, and all changes propagate instantly across Cloudflare's global network.

    We also provide a REST API so you can manage your subdomains programmatically from CI/CD pipelines, scripts, or your own applications.

    We're working on several improvements:

  • Built-in analytics: Privacy-friendly pageview tracking for your subdomains.
  • Team workspaces: Collaborate on DNS management with your team.
  • API key management: Secure, scoped API keys for automation.

    • All of these features will remain free for hobby and non-commercial projects.
